Mary Jo McBride

Mary Jo McBride, 74 of Dixon, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 3013. at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.  She was born Oct. 19, 1938, in Dixon, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Curran) McBride.  Mary Jo was a teacher for Dixon, Public Schools for 28 years, until her retirement in 1993.  She had co-owned and operated Climbing Highest Group Tutoring in Dixon with her niece, Nancy, since 1988.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, Dixon PUblic School Board, and the National Education Association.  Survivors include three nieces, Nancy Michele "Micki" Blair, both of Dixon, and Robin (Randy) Coleman of Roswell, Ga.: two nephews, Tom McBride of Mexico, Mo., and Jerry McBride of Dixon: six great-nieces, Sarah (Jeff) Blair, Annie (Chris) Chapman, Currie Coleman, Mickenzie Coleman, Holly Blair, and Bobbie Jo McBride, four great-nephews, Jason, (Sue) Mayo, Pat (Nora) McBride, Ryan Coleman, and Dan Blair, five great-great-nieces, Lexy Warren, Kara Gaither, Kelley Gaither, Lillianna McCall and Isabella McCall; and four great-great-nephews, J.C. Gaither, Jacob Gairther, Jaxson Gaither, and Isaac Mayo.  Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents: a brother, Robert McBride in 2004; and a nephew, Michael McBride.
