Donald Finch

Donald Wilson Finch Sr., 78, of Dixon, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at KSB Hospital inDixon.  He was a draftsman for Willett Hofmann and Associates for 46 years priorr to his retirement in 2003.  Donald was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Dixon, the son of Gilbert L. and Alice J. (Wilson) Finch.  He married Judith "Judy" Ward on June 9, 1962, in Oregon.  He was a veteran of the Army for 3 years, having been stationed in Germany for 2 years.  Donald was a member of Dixon Elks Lodge, American Legion, and was an active part of managing the New Landing for the Delta Queen Subdivision.  He enjoyed snowmobiling and traveling.  The last 10 years, he and his wife were snowbirds, traveling to North Naples, Florida, to spend winters there.  He is survivied by his wife of 54.5 years, Judy of Dixon; one son, Donald (Mary) Finch Jr. of Springfield, one daughter, Linda Walker of O'Fallon, Missouri; one brother Richard P. Finch of Lake Summerset; seven grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Anneke, Robert, Keale, Gage and Ellis; and many nieces and nephews.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean A. Engelbrecht.  Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
