Stanley Danek

Stanley Michael Danek, 78, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 26,2016. Stan was born May 8, 1938, in Astoria, New York, to Stanley A. and Mary Ann "Anne" Griffin Danek.  In 1947, Stan moved with is parents and three brothers (at the time) to Dixon, Illinois, where he spent most of his formative years.  In 1956 he graduated from Dixon High School.  He next attended the University of Illinois studying engineering and paying his own way through school.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1961. During college, he was an ROTC Officer and was also initiated into the Triangle Fraternity of Engineers and Architects.  After graduating, he served on active duty in the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant before being honorabley discarged in 1965. While in the Air Force, Stan met the love of his life, Carmela (Mickey) Minieri Danek.  They met at a New Year's Party at MacDill Air Force Base and were married nine months later on August 28, 1965 in Tampa, Florida.  Almost 40 years later, they moved to Orlando, Florida, to be closer to their precious granddaughters. They recently celebrated there 51st wedding anniversary together. Stan was a small business owner before deciding to attend law school in Tallahassee at Florida State University in 1971.  He graduated with a J.D. degree in 1974.  He started his legal careeer working for the Florida Public Service Commisssion n Tallahassee.  He then dutifully worked for the State of Florida, Division of Retirement, for 18 years until his retirement from government service.  He later opened his own successful private law practic.  In Tallahassee, Stan was active in St. Francis of Assissi Episcopal Church as a Deacon for many years.  He also was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and was active in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Order of DeMolay, which are Masonic youth service organizations.  He is survived by Carmela Danek, wife,  Ann Danek and Lori Danek Stephens, daughters,  Four brothers and one sisiter:  John P. Danek, Rock Island, Illinois Charles M. Danek, Dixon, Illinois: George J. Danek, Orlando,  Elizabeth M. Danek, Bolder, Colorado; and Thomas A. Danek, Dixon.
