James W. Currens POLO – James W. Currens, 73, of Polo, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Genesis Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. He was a welder and production supervisor for E.D. Etnyre & Co., Oregon.
He was born March 28, 1938, in Dixon, the son of Clyde W. and Arloine (Moore) Currens.
He married Linda Emmitt on April 3, 1999, in Rockton.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Patti (Gene) Hellwig of Sterling and Amanda (Sam) Cornn of Machesney Park; sons, Dan (Susan) Currens of Rockford and Andrew Currens of Galesburg; stepsons, Scott (Sherri) Barnett of Ava, Mark (Dorothy) Barnett of Cutler, and Shawn Garland of Dixon; stepdaughter, Kimberly Barnett of Mount Morris; six grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Living History Antique Equipment Association, 1077 state Route 251, Compton, IL 61318.
